BOSI Carbon Steel Precision Cable Cutters, a Chinese brand, are professional-grade, sharp cutting tools. Available in 6, 8, and 10-inch sizes, they are made of high-quality carbon steel with precision forging and high-frequency hardened jaws. They can cut both copper and aluminum core cables. The 6-inch cuts 9mm²/φ13mm, the 8-inch cuts 15mm²/φ15mm, and the 10-inch cuts 22mm²/φ17mm. They conform to standard QB/T4944. Inquiries and samples are welcome.

Provide three specifications: 6-inch, 8-inch, and 10 inch:

6-inch can cut 9mm ² or multi strand copper aluminum cables with a diameter of 13mm or less;

8 inches can cut 15mm ² or diameter below 15mm;

10 inches can cut 22mm ² or a diameter of 17mm or less. Please refer to the parameter table for detailed dimensions and packing numbers.

Product Process and Principle

Lever-based force amplification principle: The Carbon Steel Precision Cable Cutters use a composite lever structure with a long handle and a fulcrum close to the cutting edge. This amplifies the small force applied by the hand into a larger shearing force at the cutting edge, easily cutting multi-strand copper and aluminum cables.

High-Frequency Hardened Cutting Edge: The surface hardness of the cutting edge is significantly increased (HRC 55-60) after high-frequency hardening treatment, while maintaining internal toughness, making it both sharp and resistant to chipping during cutting.

Arc-shaped cutting edge design: The cutting edge is arc-shaped, so the cable is gradually squeezed rather than instantly broken during cutting, reducing wire core scattering and resulting in a clean cut.

Limiting structure: Some models have a shearing limiter to prevent excessive closure and damage to the cutting edge.

FAQ

Q: Can cable cutters cut steel-armored cables? 

A: Not recommended. This product is designed specifically for soft metal cables such as copper and aluminum cores. Cutting the steel armor can seriously damage the cutting edge. Please use specialized cable cutters for steel armored cables.


Q: Can the blade be re-sharpened after it becomes dull? 

A: Okay. Gently polish along the original blade angle with a fine oilstone, paying attention to maintaining symmetry. However, the high-frequency quenching layer is relatively thin and the number of polishing times is limited. It is recommended to have professional personnel perform it.


Q: What does the maximum cutting diameter of 17mm for a 10-inch cable cutter refer to? 

A: The conductor diameter of a multi stranded copper core flexible cable is approximately 17mm (corresponding to a cross-sectional area of approximately 22mm ²). The actual cutting ability may vary slightly due to the cable structure (number of strands, insulation layer thickness).


Q: What should I do if the cable core becomes tangled during cutting? 

A: Wrap tape around the incision before cutting to effectively prevent the wire core from unraveling. Additionally, ensure that the cutting edge is sharp and avoid repeated cutting in one go.


Q: How can I extend the service life of cable cutters? 

A: Only used for copper aluminum cables, do not cut iron wires or steel wires; Regularly drip lubricating oil at the shaft; Wipe clean after use; Not exceeding the specifications for use.
